This is a Robbery

This is a Robbery is a fast paced first person shooter inspired by Doom. It was the first team project I had worked on.

I was the main gameplay programmer, focused on developing a robust, smooth first person character controller, punchy combat, and simplistic AI that fulfilled distinct roles. I was also tasked with whiteboxing my own level for the game, bringing it from concept to layout.

My Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership over the character controller, developing it for extremely fluid and robust physics based movement.

  • Programming a finite-state machine based AI system that allowed for different enemy archetypes.

  • Programming the core game loop, including the weapons, health, and ammo mechanics.

  • Creating a concept for and white-boxing the 3rd level, "Archives".
